Elisa Degl’Innocenti is working on the investigation of a recently discovered astrocytic marker. The research will focus on studying the astrocytic marker both from a physiological point of view, in order to be able to recognise its cellular function, and from a pathological point of view, investigating its possible role in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s.

Elisa obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biology and her master’s degree in Biology Applied to Biomedicine at the University of Pisa.

Elisa is a PhD student in Clinical and Translational Sciences at the University of Pisa and conducts her research at the Stem Cell Laboratory of the Fondazione Pisana per la Scienza under the supervision of Dr. Maria Teresa Dell’Anno.
