Quantitative proteomics

Proteomics technologist/staff-scientist: Quantitative proteomics
Vacancy number: FPS-PRP4

As a proteomics technologist/staff-scientist within the Fondazione Pisana per la Scienza you will join a multidisciplinary team of experts in molecular analysis (proteomics, genomics), bioinformatics, cell biology, and nanomedicine. You will work at the interface of high sensitivity quantitative proteomics with molecular imaging, whether performed with mass spectrometry imaging or confocal/super resolution fluorescence microscopy.
The institute is equipped with the latest genomics, proteomics, fluorescence, and cell isolation/analysis technologies for biomedical research. The proteomics lab is currently equipped with an Orbitrap Fusion and a Q-Exactive Plus, a Proxeon Easy-nLC 1000, Waters H-Class Bio UPLC, CESI 8000, Spectroglyph MALDI imaging source, laser-capture microdissection and liquid extraction surface analysis facilities.
As a technologist/staff-scientist your primary role will be the development and maintenance of the proteomics platform at internationally competitive levels. This will include, but is not limited to, the development of improved methods for the characterization and quantitation of the proteome of volume-limited samples, whether from microdissected tissue samples, sorted cell populations, or specific subsets of extracellular vesicles. Through the provision of these bioanalytical methods you will also contribute to biomedical research projects, both national and international.
Your profile
You hold a degree in chemistry or other scientific area. Previous experience with quantitative proteomics using biomolecular mass spectrometry is highly appreciated. A flexible work approach and ability to work effectively within an international, multidisciplinary team is essential.
We offer
You will be employed on the basis of a 40-hour week. The salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
